Tarik Inman is a composer and electronic musician living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In his composition practice, he aims to create music that can both be formally rigorous and socially functional, responding to contemporary conditions as well as historical context. His works have been performed by the Mise-En Ensemble (New York, US), VICE Ensemble (Valencia, ES), and Temple University’s New Music Ensemble.
Drawing on his background in experimental electronic music and vocal performance, Inman’s compositional interests lie in the relationship between artist and audience, the interaction between humans and technology, and contemporary cultural ephemera. In the wake of Modernism, pop, and the post-digital age, Inman aims to achieve an artistic aesthetic both referential and novel.
Inman received his Bachelor in Music Technology from Temple University in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Composition at Temple University. He has studied under William Dougherty, Maurice Wright, Erin Busch, and Adam Vidiksis.
